You need to be prepared to spend 9 hours or so outdoors. You will need to bring water, snacks, lunch, adequate clothing, “10 hiking essentials”. Hiking poles are required. Boot traction devices like https://www.rei.com/product/890608/kahtoola-microspikes-traction-system are recommended. We are in Oregon fall weather. The hike will go on “rain or shine”. Bring rain gear and extra clothes to change into back at the trailhead.
What is "Wilderness" and why are we choosing it as a backdrop for mindfulness?
Here are mindful teachings masquerading as the 1964 Wilderness Act:
"A wilderness, in contrast with those areas where man and his own works dominate the landscape, is hereby recognized as an area where the earth and its community of life are untrammeled by man, where man himself is a visitor who does not remain"
Hope to spend a mindful hiking day with you all.
