Next Monthly Meeting: The PIMC Engaging the Dharma (ETD) Initiative (Sun., Nov. 3, 2019, 12:30-2:30pm)

Primary tabs

The next regularly scheduled monthly ETD meeting will be on Sunday, 11/3/19 after the Dharma Talk - 12:30-2:30pm. The monthly ETD meetings are held the first Sunday of every month.

We will be viewing and discussing the video course, Awakening the Dreamer, developed by the Pachamama Alliance. In this two-hour Symposium, we’ll look squarely at the state of the world—where we are and how we got here—and then explore what role we can play in bringing forth an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling, socially just human presence on this planet.

Awakening the Dreamer was created in response to an invitation from the Achuar people of the Ecuadorian Amazon to work in partnership to shift the dominant culture of consumption and alienation to one that honors and sustains all life.

Through the course, we’ll answer four questions: Where are we? How did we get here? Then we’ll envision a new story for humanity – and ask, what is possible now? And where do we go from here?

We’ll look at actions we can take, on our own and with others, and new ways of being that are consistent with our own vision and stand. We’ll come away from this course with an enhanced sense of clarity, hope and inspiration.

PIMC began the ETD initiative in Oct. 2018, to give our sangha a platform for unified action. In this program, we explore and determine ways to be of service actively, effectively, and compassionately in the larger community outside of PIMC.

The ETD meetings are always on the 1st Sunday of the month, following the closing circle. All are welcome.
