PIMC Benefit Performance of "FORCE OF NATURE" (Mar. 16, 2019)

Primary tabs

PIMC invites you a special benefit performance of "FORCE OF NATURE", a one-woman show on the social, political, and cultural aspects of childbirth.

So what does childbirth have to do with the Four Noble Truths? Only everything!

The actor and writer of the play is Carole Groobman. The play is directed by Kathleen Edwards.

Internationally known author, birth doula, and childbirth educator Penny Simkin wrote,

"This engaging and educational performance uses storytelling, humor, and eloquent words to not only convey the wonder and power of childbirth, but also to introduce many questions about the medicalization of this normal body process and the culturally based fear that underlies much of obstetrical care today."

There will be a post-performance discussion and question & answer session.
