Buddhist Movie Night at PIMC: "Seven Years in Tibet" (Sat., 9/8/18, 6:30pm)

Primary tabs

Please join us for another edition of Buddhist Movie Night at PIMC. We'll be watching "Seven Years in Tibet" on Saturday, Sept. 8.  The screening will begin at 6:30pm.

This is a chance to come together as a community, enjoy Buddhist/mindfulness-themed cinema, and discuss how the material relates to our understanding of the Buddha and the Dharma.

Seven Years in Tibet  is a 1997 American drama film based on the 1952 memoir of the same name, written by Austrian mountaineer Heinrich Harrer, on his experiences in Tibet between 1944 and 1951, during which he befriended the 14th Dali Lama and became one of the boy’s tutors. The film covers the time period during World War II through the Chinese People's Liberation Army's invasion of Tibet in 1950. Directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud and starring Brad Pitt and David Thewlis. The score features internationally renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma.

Mikki Gillette will be hosting the movie night and leading the discussion afterward. It will be a very mellow, low key affair. Please come, bring a snack to share if you like, and enjoy.
