Please join us for Buddhist Movie Night at PIMC. We'll be watching "Little Buddha" on Saturday, June 23. The screening will begin at 6:30pm.
This is a chance to come together as a community, enjoy Buddhist-themed cinema, and discuss how the material relates to our understanding of the Buddha and the Dharma.
Little Buddha is a 1993 film directed by academy-award-winning director Bernardo Bertolucci (who also directed "The Last Emperor"). The movie alternates between current times, when a group of Tibetan Buddhist monks are travelling to Seattle to determine whether a young boy there is a reincarnated lama, and the ancient story of Siddhartha, the prince who became The Buddha. The film stars Bridget Fonda and Keanu Reeves, as well as three Tibetan incarnate lamas.
Mikki Gillette will be hosting the movie night and leading the discussion afterward. It will be a very mellow, low key affair. Please come, bring a snack to share if you like, and enjoy.
Suggested Donation: $5/person (no one turned away for insufficient funds).
