Buddhist Movie Night - Sat., 5/12/18, 6:30pm

Primary tabs

Please join us for PIMC's first Buddhist Movie Night. We'll be watching "Kundun" on Saturday, May 12th.  The screening will begin at 6:30pm.

This is a chance to come together as a community, enjoy Buddhist-themed cinema, and discuss how the material relates to our understanding of the Buddha and the dharma.

We'll be starting with director Martin Scorsese's film "Kundun." This 1997 epic tells the story of the Dalai Lama's life, from his birth in 1937, to his flight from Tibet in 1959. Written by Melissa Mathison (who also wrote E.T.), Kundun was well-reviewed on its release, and won many awards for its breath taking cinematography.

Mikki Gillette will be hosting the movie night at her house. It will be a very mellow, low key affair. Please come, bring a snack to share if you like, and enjoy.
