Mindful Hike, with Vik (Sat. Dec. 28, 2019)

On Sat., Dec. 28, we welcome you to join us for a mindful day of hiking in the Clackamas Wilderness to work off your Christmas celebrations. This 9-mile hike will take us through mossy cedar, hemlock and Douglas-fir, several waterfalls and streams meandering by the Clackamas river. The hike has 1,300 feet of elevation gain. Hike is on, rain, snow or shine. However, if the roads are not passable due to snow, a different hike will be substituted.

Please join Robert and Gary for an annual PIMC ritual - a powerful New Year's grief ritual to pave the way for joy, forgiveness, and compassion in the coming year.

Please arrive at the PIMC Dharma Hall by 8:45pm on Dec. 31.



PIMC is adding a new group Dharma gathering to our weekly schedule.
This mid-week sit, led by Gregory, will offer you a unique opportunity to greatly expand your understanding of the psychology, philosophy, and spirituality of the Buddhist Eight-Fold Path.

WELCOME BACK!! Returning Visiting Teacher Frank Leder (Sat., 12/14/19 and Sun., 12/15/19)

PIMC is happy to welcome back Frank Leder, Robert's Dharma brother and fellow Ruth Denison student, for a weekend of programs the weekend of Dec. 14. This will be Frank's fifth annual visit to PIMC.

Buddhist Movie Night at PIMC: "Late Spring" (Sat., 12/21/19, 6:30pm)

Please join us for another edition of Buddhist Movie Night at Portland Insight Meditation Community (PIMC). We'll be watching "Late Spring" on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019.  The screening will begin at 6:30pm.

This is a chance to come together as a community, enjoy Buddhist/mindfulness-themed cinema, and discuss how the material relates to our understanding of the Buddha and the Dharma.

Robert Is Back!!!!!

Robert Beatty, PIMC's founder and guiding teacher, had surgery on Mon. Nov. 11, 2019 and has been on extended leave during his recovery.

Robert is back!!! He on a light work schedule as he continues to build back his strength.




Guiding Teacher Robert Beatty and PIMC Teachers Council are pleased to present the Winter 2020 schedule. The teachers have been working for months to develop and coordinate their offerings to provide a diversity of subjects.
