Buddhist Movie Night at PIMC: "10 Questions for the Dalai Llama" (Sat., 1/18/20, 6:30pm)

Please join us for another edition of Buddhist Movie Night at Portland Insight Meditation Community (PIMC). We'll be watching "10 Questions for the Dalai Llama" on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2019.  The screening will begin at 6:30pm.

This is a chance to come together as a community, enjoy Buddhist/mindfulness-themed cinema, and discuss how the material relates to our understanding of the Buddha and the Dharma.

End-Of-Life Doula 101 (A PIMC-Sponsored Event)

Come join us for an empowering and informative workshop that mindfully explores death, dying, and end-of-life planning. Engaging a trained End-of-Life Doula can provide the deep, compassionate listening, the supportive coaching, and the educational resources that can lead to things beginning to shift emotionally. Your planning can precipitate lines of communication opening, leading to emotional healing and wellbeing for yourself and people you love.

Mindful Hike, with Vik (Sat. Dec. 28, 2019)

On Sat., Dec. 28, we welcome you to join us for a mindful day of hiking in the Clackamas Wilderness to work off your Christmas celebrations. This 9-mile hike will take us through mossy cedar, hemlock and Douglas-fir, several waterfalls and streams meandering by the Clackamas river. The hike has 1,300 feet of elevation gain. Hike is on, rain, snow or shine. However, if the roads are not passable due to snow, a different hike will be substituted.

This mid-week sit, led by Gregory, will offer you a unique opportunity to greatly expand your understanding of the psychology, philosophy, and spirituality of the Buddhist Eight-Fold Path.
