MEETING DATE: July 7, 2019

MEETING LOCATION: PIMC Living Room

IN ATTENDANCE: Anne-marie, Melanie, Lori, Avi, and Michael

Michael wants to be involved with climate change. Get us involved with a group

called, One earth sanga. Living in change.

The first two weeks of October is when One earth Sanga does their action.

Michael is going to research more.

We are still interested in letter writing to our politcal leaders about enviornmental  laws and issues during hospitality.

Melanie wants to do a brown bag lunch or bring a meal to Jean’s kitchen. The pros and cons are,

Hanging out with the people who are living in the shelter is a deeper connection. Brown bag lunches made at PIMC is a connection with other sanga members.

We agreed on doing a simple survey during Sunday morning service. We are hoping that we can get 10 minutes of time for people to fill out the survey.

Anne-marie is going to call around to other Buddhist groups to see if there is someone who can do a dharma talk on race. How much would it cost to bring someone to PIMC.

A book recommendation, Awakening Together by Larry Yang.

We also spoke of messaging. How we can support and inspire others to get involved? Concerned that there is not enough people to get involved.

We decided that each one of us would be a lead of an action that we wanted to do.

As mentioned in the last meeting we would talk for a brief time about our event and encourage people to volunteer through sign up or on a clipboard.

We would have roles assigned to volunteers ahead of time. They would get email reminders through signup.com

We did not discuss family night since Tia and Rebecca were not available.

However Anne-marie did get the children’s face painter to come.
