We have a new weekly drop-in with Gary Sanders, Tuesdays 7pm-8.30pm in the PIMC living room.
Basic Flow: Introductions/check-ins, brief talk about the meditation, guided meditation, Dharma talk and discussion.
In the Metta Sutta, the Buddha encouraged us all to cultivate a boundless heart of loving-kindness for all beings and that is exactly what our intention is for this new weekly group. We will practice a variety of meditations and discuss a full spectrum of dharmic nuggets, all infused with the gentleness and friendliness of metta. By meeting weekly, we get a chance to build strong relationships within our sangha (community) and clearly see that we truly aren't alone in this crazy dance we call life. When training the mind with goodwill and appreciation, we find that peace and ease become more like frequent visitors than distant and forgotten relatives. Through it all, we will find that not only is it possible to cultivate a boundless heart, but it is our birthright and a necessity to survive in the turbulent times we live in.
Starts this Tuesday (July 11th), donation requested but no one turned away for lack of funds.
