This is Portland Insight Meditation Community’s (PIMC’s) monthly Buddhist/mindfulness-themed movie night – a chance to see movies that expand our understanding of the Buddha and the Dharma and talk about these ideas with other interested folks.
"Kubo and The Two Strings" is a 2016 animated epic action-adventure set in a fantastical Japan from acclaimed animation studio LAIKA.
Putting out the call for the Fall 2018 service day for PIMC volunteers on Saturday, Sept. 29. Spend the day taking refuge in the sangha - socializing with friends and getting to know folks in the PIMC community as we get some necessary maintenance done on our lovely home!

In this introductory class, a six-week series on the Heart Of Mindfulness Practice, the basic instruction in insight meditation will be given sequentially, beginning with a focus on mindfulness of breathing, followed by mindfulness of the body, of emotions, of thoughts, of mind and of the application of mindfulness in daily life and on retreat This 6-week class is appropriate for beginners as well as for experienced meditators who want to refresh the fundamentals of their practice.
